<p>Iain Staffell, of Imperial College London, said: &ldquo;Britain has become only the sixth country in the world where wind farms are the top source of electricity.&rdquo;</p>
<p>Simon Evans, policy editor at the website Carbon Brief, believes the stats are good news for Britain&rsquo;s energy security.</p>
<p>And Jess Ralston, of the Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit think tank, says renewables are the answer to reducing&nbsp;the &ldquo;energy bill chaos&rdquo; caused by international gas markets.</p>
