ROY KEANE has launched a blistering attack on Bruno Fernandes and told him he’s not fit for purpose as Manchester United captain.
Fernandes was made skipper of United last summer after manager Erik ten Hag decided to replace Harry Maguire.
But under Fernandes’ leadership, United have lurched from one disaster to another this season.
Ten Hag’s men have suffered 14 defeats – a record at this stage of a campaign – and never came close to managing a title challenge.
To make matters worse, the fallen giants finished bottom of their Champions League group and crashed out of the Carabao Cup 3-0 at Old Trafford to an injury-depleted Newcastle.
Fernandes has divided opinion, due to his obsession with unnecessary histrionics and moaning at officials.
Keane, who led United with such distinction and success during his time at Old Trafford, accused Fernandes of “floating around” and believes the behaviour of the Portuguese is having a negative impact on the team.
