GRANGE Hill legend Lee MacDonald has revealed he's been diagnosed with skin cancer.The TV star, famed for playing Zammo McGuire, inset, was told the news during a check-up for a spot on his face.In a post on social media, he told fans: "Went to the doctors today to check an unusual spot on my face! Doctor says it's cancer!" Lee, 56, is now set to have treatment to tackle it.The star has spoken publicly about his diagnosis in a bid to raise awareness about the condition.And he is encouraging anyone with symptoms to go for a check-up as early detection boosts the chances of a full recovery. Things to look out for include red patches on your skin, changes to freckles or moles and a lump or a sore that doesn't heal.He added: "As we [get] older please keep an eye on anything unusual and hopefully get it looked at early!!!" Fans have rushed to show support for him over his diagnosis. One said: "Best wishes to you Lee, stay positive." It is estimated one in four men and one in five women will develop a form of skin cancer in their lifetime.More than 230,000 cases of non-melanoma skin cancer are diagnosed every year in the UK.
