However, the four points from the win didn't help Uttar Pradesh much as they are still struggling at the fifth position with just eight points from two wins in as many as five matches so far. Gujarat (16 pts), Hyderabad (12 pts), Himachal Pradesh (12 pts) and Vidarbha (12 pts) are the top four leaders in the points table.
Uttar Pradesh holds an outside chance to make the cut and for that they need to win their remaining two league matches against Hyderabad on Monday and thereafter against Vidarbha on Wednesday.
