JASMINE'S mother Jacqueline delivered a powerful victim impact statement to the court on Monday.
The family later released the statement in its entirety on the Facebook page dedicated to Jasmine's memory, Smile For Jasmine.
In part it reads: "My name is Jacqueline McMonagle. I am the mother of Jasmine. I speak today not only for myself, I also speak on behalf of my daughter Jasmine, her two children and Jasmine's brother and sister.
"Jasmine had her life and future horrifically taken from her by Richard Burke on the 4th of January 2019.
"He violently beat her and strangled her with a rope and mutilated my beautiful daughter." It continues: "Jasm was a beautiful young woman aged 28 with a lifetime ahead of her.
