Mandya city is all set to host the three-day 87th All-India Kannada Sahitya Sammelana for the third time after three decades, from Friday to Sunday.
With preparations complete, including setting up of the platform near Srinivasapura village on the Mandya-Mysuru Expressway, Kannada enthusiasts have started thronging the Sugar Town of Karnataka.
Sammelana president Go Ru Channabasappa was formally welcomed near the venue on Thursday.
About 2,500 workers, including 750 cooks, have been hired by Navaneeth Caterers of Mysuru who are busy preparing food for the participants, including one lakh holige sweets, Badusha, Mysuru Pak, Laddus, and other food items.
