With the coastal road parallel to Ghodbunder Road a nonstarter, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has initiated work on another coastal road in Thane, this one connecting Kharegaon and Anand Nagar at Kopri.
"MMRDA has prepared the plan for implementing the proposed link road between Kharegaon to Anand Nagar at Kopri. We are checking the feasibility of the project and this is the second phase of Thane coastal road," an MMRDA official confirmed.
