A HEROIC police officer who was si gled out for his brave actions duri the inquests into the deaths of the v tims of the Keyham tragedy in 2021 a the gunman that day has said he w just "a small cog" in a larger machine PC Zach Printer was commended f his bravery, but has said he would ha for his colleagues' efforts on the day go unnoticed.
PC Printer and Sgt Graham Temp were the first to hear a call over poli radio about a potential shooting in t Keyham area of Plymouth on Augu 12, 2021, which, it turned out, claim the lives of five innocent people plus the gunman. He has been hailed as "extraordinarily brave" after running towards Jake Davison upon learning he had a gun.
Printer PC recalled needing to "protect the public," and "protect my colleagues", as he ran towards Davison, who was then in possession of a shotgun. He told the inquest his job as a police officer "is to protect the public as best I can", adding he "had no choice".
