Complaints about Met cops soar

COMPLAINTS about behaviour at the scandal-hit Metropolitan Police have soared by 28% in a year.

Members of the public accused officers of sexual assault, racism, sexism, harassment, homophobia and excessive use of force, among other incidents, figures show.

Some 11,279 people made 20,202 allegations in 2022/23 - a rate of more than one per hour and up from 15,733 the year before, numbers from police watchdog the Independent Office for Police Conduct reveal.
