THE US is boosting its aerial firepower in the Middle East with more fighters sent to protect Israel as violence threatens to spill over in the region.
A squadron will be moved there to combat potential attacks by Iran and its proxies, the Pentagon revealed.
Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin has also ordered extra ballistic missile defence-capable cruisers and destroyers to the US European Command region as well as US Central Command, which includes the Middle East.
