KEMI Badenoch was crowned the new Conservative leader yesterday, making history as the first Black woman to head a major UK political party.

The former Cabinet minister came out on top after a bitter four-month contest following the worst General Election defeat in the party's history.

Ms Badenoch, 44, was picked by the same party members now down to under 132,000 who inflicted Liz Truss on the country, beating former Home Office minister Robert Jenrick.
