LIFE-CHANGING OP FOR TONY

INSPIRATIONAL double amputee Tony Hudgell will have a "life-changing" operation so he can walk without crutches.

The brave fundraiser will have his left thigh bone taken out and replaced back-to-front.

The surgery - the nine-year-old's 28th should encourage it to grow to the same size as the right one, stabilising his hip and enabling him to walk unaided on his prosthetics.

But he will have a fixator cage on his leg for up to a year, leaving him in a wheelchair.
