Saracens 10

Sale Sharks 20

SALE boss Alex Sanderson declared George Ford was the man behind Sharks' revival after they claimed a place in the play-offs.

Sharks survived the early loss of Manu Tuilagi after 17 minutes on his 33rd birthday - with a hamstring injury, to set up a semi-final trip to Bath.

Sale initially thought Tuilagi was out for the season, and could have played his last Sharks game, but Sanderson will give him every chance over the next two weeks to show his fitness.

Saracens, favourites to land a home semi-final, now face a trip to Northampton in a fortnight, after Sale outplayed the six-time champions and beat them away for the first time in 19 years.

Ford (above) was the Sharks ringmaster, getting one over his old pal Owen Farrell, and Sanderson praised the fly-half for leading Sale's revival.
