SUNDERLAND are top of the league.

Three wins out of three, and yet to concede a goal, the Black Cats are back - and new French boss Regis Le Bris is working some magic.

On the day Jack Clarke confirmed his £20 million move to Ipswich, Sunderland conjured a left-wing replacement to come out of the shadows and win the match.

Romaine Mundle scored in the first half, cutting in and rifling a shot past James Trafford to secure the points in a game that was a top-two Championship clash at the start of the day.

There is energy all over at Sunderland. Le Bris has modernised the playing style and unlocked his young squad's energy.

It's the first time in club history they've won the first three league games without conceding.

Deadpan Le Bris said: "Good! But no celebration. Football is fragile.
