New Delhi: The Delhi government's bus lane enforcement drive, which saw 24,000 challans being issued in its first two months, is now going to enter its phase-II.
Transport minister Kailash Gahlot, who inspected the drive on the Vasant Vihar-INA stretch on Tuesday, said the second phase would see further intensification and focus more on the stringent training of drivers and conductors. The learning module will include a bus lane with a bus stop especially being created to train drivers.
The transport department started the drive on April 1 to ensure that Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and Cluster Scheme buses ply only on the designated bus lanes and stop the vehicles only at the bus box.
