To progress as a photographer, you have to be prepared for any eventuality. You won’t always have perfect conditions, so you have be able to adapt to whatever Mother Nature throws at you.
This is especially true when I have a group of photographers on a workshop wanting to capture amazing images every day, even though the conditions may not provide it. Recently I was leading a workshop in the Languedoc region of southern France: although the weather was wonderful, it didn’t fully cooperate with what we had intended. The conditions were just not what we were anticipating. The mornings were clear with no mist, while the clouds would roll in during the day, then disappear for sunset. And let’s face it: a sunset is pretty boring without clouds.
