In 2014 he started photographing landscapes but did some street photography as well as still-life photography. In 2019, he started bird photography and realised that this is what he enjoys the most. Since then, he has been doing only bird photography and has earned some accolades in the field. Apart from getting awards in various national and international photography competitions, his pictures have been published by National Geographic India, National Geographic Traveler India, The Times UK, The Telegraph UK, Daily Star UK, UN Annual calendar 2021, Hindustan Times (Chandigarh Edition), Times of India (Chandigarh Edition) and Sanctuary Asia magazine. Unlike most bird photographers, he does not travel to far off places to capture rare birds. He prefers to stay close to his home and take some unusual shots of common birds.

■ How did you get into photography?
I planned a leisure travel to South Africa in 2014. Since I knew this place is famous for wildlife, I bought the most basic DSLR Nikon D3200 with 18-55 mm and 55-200mm. Thought I did not get any good shots on that trip, but on my return to do some justice to the money I had spent, I kept using the camera and gradually became comfortable and then upgraded to Nikon D750. After using Nikon D750 for 7 years I recently upgraded to Nikon Z8.
■ Did you undergo any formal training in photography or are you self-learned?
In 2014, When I had bought my first DSLR I did not know how to use it. So, I did a very basic course to understand the controls of the camera. After that, You Tube became my teacher and I learned a lot of things about photography including editing.
