While some may groan or find this vast expansion to be a glut of similar opinions, not all content creators are treading similar ground.
We at Casual Game Insider want to focus on some of these people who fall under the big umbrella of content creation. We reached out to Taylor of Taylor’s Tricking-Taking Table, a YouTube channel devoted to a genre of games that traces back through centuries of well-worn family games using only a deck of 52 playing cards.
We also contacted Beneeta and Kasey, who on their own have well-established social media presences — Beneeta streams on Twitch as well as TikTok; Kasey is known as Brain in a Jar and not only streams on Twitch but has successful Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram content. Together, they have recently launched The Feeding Phase , a podcast about combining two of their interests: board games and food.
The Genesis of an Idea
Beneeta and Kasey were creating content before meeting in 2021. “[We] clicked instantly when we realized not only did we have a shared love for board games, but also that we actually overlapped living in Maryland during our time in graduate school,” explains Beneeta. “It wasn’t long before I had Kasey guesting on my Twitch channel and before you knew it, we were attached at the hip and developing our signature brand, ‘Brain and a Kaur’.”
“During our many ear ly col laborations , we discovered our shared love for food and cooking. We couldn’t stream a game on Twitch without mentioning the latest recipes we were getting to the table.”
Kasey continues, “When I knew I wanted to start a new creative endeavor in the podcasting world, there was no other person I could imagine collaborating with. Plus, Beneeta and I always joked we needed to start a podcast together, so it was finally the time.”
