Virat Kohli has been a stupendous batter across formats in cricket, and his dominance is pretty lethal. In match number six of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season, Kohli scored an authoritative 77 from 49 balls to help the Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Punjab Kings by four wickets at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday. Kohli smashed 11 fours and two sixes, striking at 157.14. Punjab managed 176/6 before RCB scored 178/6. This was RCB’s maiden win after they suffered a defeat in their opener against Chennai Super Kings. Kohli, who is the top scorer in IPL history, raced to his 51st fifty. He also owns 7 centuries in the cash-rich league.
In T20 cricket, Kohli attained a new milestone. He became the third batter after Chris Gayle and David Warner to smash 100 fifty-plus scores or more. It’s indeed a unique feat for the 35-year-old Indian batting ace.

Legendary T20 ace Chris Gayle bossed the show in this format, enjoying a dominating career from 2005 to 2022. Gayle played 463 T20 matches overall and smacked 110 fifty-plus scores. His feat included 88 half-centuries and 22 centuries. Gayle scored a whopping 14562 runs in T20s at 36.22 and had a strike rate worth 144.75.
