Golf's Only All-Professional Major Returned to Oakhill Country Club
ROLEX AND THE PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

The attention of the golf world turned to Rochester, New York in May for the 105th edition of the PGA Championship, the second of the four annual men's Majors and the only one contested by an all-professional field.

First held in 1916, the tournament this year was staged for a fourth time at Oak Hill Country Club, one of the most decorated clubs in America. Oak Hill previously hosted it in 1980 - when Rolex Testimonee and 18-time Major winner Jack Nicklaus claimed his record fifth PGA Championship title - in 2003 and 2013.

For more than 50 years, Rolex has been at the heart of golf, forging close ties with elite and developing players, the main professional tours and governing bodies, as well as the finest events on the calendar. This deep-rooted support encompasses all the men's Majors that constitute the pinnacle of achievement, including the PGA Championship, at which the brand has been Official Timekeeper and Official Partner since 2021 and where Rolex Testimonees have enjoyed regular success.

Challenging in any conditions, the 2023 PGA Championship saw unseasonably cold temperatures and rain test the resilience and skills of the world's best golfers. Following an impressive performance at April's Masters Tournament, the resurgent Brooks Koepka illuminated the East Cours and thrilled spectators with his unwavering accuracy and precision.

The American finished two shots clear on nine under to claim the iconic Wanamaker Trophy, awarded to the winner of the PGA Championship since 1916. It is the largest trophy in golf and named after Rodman Wanamaker, a Philadelphia native and American businessman who was a pivotal member in the formation of the PGA of America in 1916.
