For the past couple of years, Prestige Indonesia has continued to publish its yearly Travel Issue, highlighting new ventures and new players in the hospitality industry through stories with an underlying message of hope. Hope that travel would soon be a normal part of our lives again. A return – even if not yet fully so – to normalcy. And now, it’s perhaps safe to say that those hopes have prevailed. International tourists are once again flocking to Bali, new hotels are opening, and businesses of all sorts are gearing up for business as usual at pre-pandemic levels. So, through this issue, we hope to both enlighten and inspire. For the former, we’re featuring interviews with a number of notable figures in the hospitality industry and related businesses. We caught up with ARTOTEL’s Erastus Radjimin and Ramesh Jackson from Marriott International to gain new insight into how the hotel business is doing, and how it’s planning for the coming months – which, in turn, gives us a good indication of how our future travel plans might look like. As the F&B business has always been a good indicator of things to come, we also chatted with Maxime Chaurey from Flash Coffee, as well as Audrey Purwana to learn about Indonesia’s very first craft spirits distillery based in Bali. As for the part about inspiring, we’ve curated a couple of lively round-ups for anybody looking for travelling ideas. One is a collection of ten restaurants spread across Asia that any foodie should definitely have on their list of must-visits. Then, for those looking for something a little bit more adventurous, we have a collection of tented resorts – glamping sites – where you can reconnect with the great outdoors while enjoying five-star comfort.
