Feng Shui And Your Dog

We know that dogs definitely make our lives better, and in terms of Feng Shui, they definitely enhance our lives and our homes

There’s a traditional Chinese saying that goes – “If a dog shows up at your doorstep (or in some other form of your life), don’t shoo them away. Invite them inside your home and care for them and they will surely bring you good fortune.”

Feng shui (pronounced “fung shway”) is the Chinese art of enhancing the flow of energy, also known as “chi”, through your home.

Feng Shui boosts elements believed to bring on good luck, wealth, health, marriage, and children whilst reducing and removing negative energies. It’s believed to bring peace to your home using five elements – earth, fire, wood, water, and metal – to create an environmental balance. Feng Shui has become extremely popular in the Western world, with many celebrities becoming converts and turning their homes into a Zen oasis. But can it work for pets too? Apparently so!

GET THE BASICS RIGHT

If you apply the principles of Feng Shui to your dog, this will include putting his or her bed against a wall with a full view of the door. Don’t hang anything above it, including wall art. Also, make sure there’s no mirror directly across from where your doggo sleeps, as that’s classic bad Feng Shui. The mirror bounces energy around the room, causing restlessness and insomnia. Avoid the colour white, choosing earth tones to create a calming atmosphere. Wind chimes are good energy, as are living, indoor plants (make sure that they aren’t poisonous to curious dogs).
