Brides love being photographed with horses but there can be complications.
Every now and then, a horse owner is asked to lend out his or her horse for a wedding. While the notion sounds romantic, this is not a proposition to be entered into lightly. Love and marriage might go together like a horse and carriage, but horses don’t always go with weddings. The following should be kept in mind:
• Insurance
Horses are unpredictable. If you’re using your own horse, ensure that it is covered by third party insurance in case someone is injured or property is damaged.
The horse itself should also be insured if you’re hiring it out regularly as it will have to be transported and handled in unfamiliar situations.
