A moment comes and transforms…
Waking up at Amrit Vela, (pre-dawn time) is something I had to get used to very early in life. I've have watched my grandparents and parents adapt to this as a way of life.
When I was a teenager, one fine day Dad declared that my brother and I also have to wake up early! I thought dad was joking; but the very next morning, he stomped into my bedroom before dawn, and switched off the fan and switched on all the lights. That means we must wake up! Even Sundays were not spared from then on!
“Come let's watch the sunrise!”, he would command.
Then add his touch of love, by saying, “You can go back to sleep after having breakfast with me… how about that!”
His logic stunned me… because once I have brushed my teeth, there was no way the sweet dreams and sleep would come back to me! Oh! I wanted to yell back, 'Hail Hitler' if I could look at my Dad, in those moments. But all I did was, pull myself out of the bed.
