Return To Sender

Restoration shops. There are a few who specialise in the muscle car variety, but what do you do when you have a stack of cash and your Blightybased restorer has a two-year waiting list? If you want to beat the queue and take a holiday at the same time, read on...

There is an alternative, and over the next couple of issues we will bring you a fresh take on where to take your cherished vehicle - a Texas-based muscle car restorer with an idea that came from thinking outside of the box, and boy did they nail it! Muscle Cars Of Texas will provide a service to you here in the UK/Europe where your car is taken from our shores, and sent to them – within 12 months your car will be restored and then delivered back to you!

Muscle Cars Of Texas are a restoration company based in Houston who have won many awards in the USA for their services, including the fabled Top Flight NCRS for their Corvette efforts. I got a phone call from the owner, Vinnie T, a couple of months ago. He’s a cool guy, originally from New York, who cut his teeth on the cars we all know and love when they were brand new back in the day. Vinnie’s knowledge is very broad across the spectrum of makes and models and he is a walking encyclopaedia on anything muscle car. In his call, Vinnie expressed an interest in providing a service to customers outside of the US, where customers’ muscle cars could be restored back in the motherland and then returned to them within a 12-month period. This would mean a minor paperwork exercise for import/export.
