-AMR model can hit 205mph
-6.0-litre V12 packs 595bhp
THIS is the new Aston Martin Rapide AMR, which can lay claim to the crown of the world’s fastest four-door coupé. Only 210 examples will be made, each carrying a price tag of £194,950.
Upgrades to the 6.0-litre V12 consist of an enlarged inlet manifold, revised engine mapping and a quad tailpipe set-up. The result is a 43bhp hike over the Rapide S, taking total power up to 595bhp, while peak torque is unchanged at 630Nm.
This is channelled to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox, and means the AMR covers the 0-62mph sprint in 4.2 seconds on its way to a 205mph top speed.
