THE END OF SUMMER BRIGHTON RUN

With more or less every cruise, show, meet and event wiped off the calendar for2020 (cheers Covid-19!), it seemed that the End of Summer Brighton Run would be off the cards too… but then certain restrictions were lifted and with that, so were our spirits! With little time to plan and after speaking with Poul, the owner of the Roedean Cafe on Marine Drive in Brighton, I decided to put on the yearly run after all and it seemed many were pleased about the news.

My partner Liz and I had been isolating for what seemed like an eternity, so when we woke up Sunday morning with a view to actually going out, we were very excited. Our kids, grandkids and our great-grandson were all coming along too, so it was gonna be lovely to see them all together after all these months. Plus it was our great-grandson’s (Leonard-Bill) first actual car cruise. With them, along with good friends and car friends, it was sure gonna be a good day.

I spent the day before in the garage cleaning my Charger – it was even starting to gather dust as it hadn’t been out for so long – so we were well prepared as we met up with Warren Stevens in his Mustang with a newly rebuilt engine and made our way over to Starbucks on the A23 for the first meeting point at 11 am.
