Keeping it light on the pocket is what the Nissan Magnite does very well
VIRTUE BEYOND THE PRICE TAG

For the last couple of months, we have been putting the Nissan Magnite through some tough love. The reason has been plain and simple — Nissan has launched the Magnite at a price point that has shaken the market, and we want to know if it is just a frugal price point that is the Magnite’s only card to play or if it’s truly a car that has the potential to be a true game-changer.

Last month, we discussed how the Magnite has managed to not just grab the attention of the masses, but it has also stayed on in their minds. With its design earning eyeballs everywhere it goes, this Nissan seems to have scored a big thumbs up for its styling. The same holds for its price to features and appeal ratio as well. No wonder, as we write this, Nissan has posted a staggering 443% YoY growth last month!

However, this means that at this moment in time, the Magnite has a lot going for the company. This on one hand is a great achievement for the brand, that it finally seems to have cracked the tough to decipher Indian customer mindset, but on the other hand, it also means that the Magnite will have to live up to its promise once it goes from the showroom floor to the real world.

This is why, beyond the price tag, the thing that truly makes or breaks a product (even brands) is how well the customers perceive their after-sales experience. This is why we wanted to learn more about Magnite’s cost of ownership, its service support, and what one should expect from the brand when one makes the purchase.
