The PJM Lorry Park in Coventry was shortlisted for the TSN ‘Truckstop of the Year’ and while it didn’t win the overall gong, it is certainly an establishment you should consider using if you are passing or stopping over in the area. The one word that strikes you when you enter the canteen is cleanliness.
It is in south east Coventry, and is easy to get to from the myriad of motorways that cross through the West Midlands including the M1, M6, M69, M45, M40, M5 and M42. The address is Rowley Road, Coventry, CV3 4PY, close to where the A45 meets the A46.
The site has parking for 160 trucks and security is a big feature of the site, with a manned barrier preventing unwanted access. This makes it a very popular place for those stopping over with valuable loads.
Food choices
The site offers fresh and locally sourced food. The canteen-style restaurant is open on Monday to Thursday from 06002200 (with the last orders for food being taken at 2130) and on Fridays from 06001400, with last orders at 1330. Meals are available to be consumed either sitting in the clean seating area or for take-away.
A full English, which is a choice of six items, costs £6 and that includes a hot drink. A Hungry breakfast, which is eight items and a drink, is a pound more. The Route 45 breakfast is 10 items and is £9, also including a tea or coffee. The vegetarian breakfast is scrambled eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, hash browns and a hot drink and is £5.
