A while back Andrew Thompson was invited along to the reveal of this unique T4 build. Some of you may remember the video that went out at the time of the reveal, it had over five million views! If you missed it, head over to YouTube and search for Tourettesmobile—no you won’t be disappointed with this incredibly positive video. The reaction to the van is something else!
The van was built for comedian Jess Thom aka The Tourette’s Hero, in the video, she explained that—“I’ve got a cape, I’ve got a wheelchair, but I haven’t got a ride—I need more wheels!” Jess was going on tour; she is a superhero so needed a suitable super van. Bruce Holder was challenged to build the van using only parts from eBay, this also included finding a suitable base vehicle, Bruce looked over several vans before finding ‘the one’. This actually included my T4 back when it was freshly imported and completely stock—I’m glad it wasn’t the right vehicle for the project because that van sure has been on an interesting journey since then! “We would have liked to use a T5, but our budget simply wouldn’t allow for that along with the modifications we had in store. We purposefully went for a white panel van with a bench seat up front and a rear bulkhead over a bus to achieve the most impact from the transformation. The idea of this project was not only to supply Jess with an awesome vehicle, but also to inspire other people to get on eBay and be creative and think outside the box” Bruce told us.
