The entire Softail range has received a wonderful makeover. If you’ve read our earlier reviews of the 2018 Street Bob, Fat Bob, Fat Boy and Heritage Classic, you already know that we really like the new line and welcome the changes.
The entire Softail range has been redeveloped with a new chassis and design, but, more importantly, now they all come with the Milwaukee-Eight 107 engine. In India, the Softail range has seen two new additions – the Deluxe and the Low Rider. The Deluxe is the more beautiful and classy of the two and certainly the most impressive in terms of road presence in the entire range. The Low Rider, on the other hand, is the retro style king and one of the most customisable bikes to come from Harley-Davidson.
The Deluxe
The Deluxe pays homage to the design changes that were first implemented in Harley-Davidson in 1949, when the company replaced the springer front-ends on the rigid FL frames with hydraulic front forks. The fenders on the new Deluxe are quite similar to those old FL frames, giving it an appearance akin to an old hardtail. Fitted with those beautiful whitewall tyres, it has enough chrome in all the right places to give it an elegant and classy look. The appearance of the new Deluxe makes a strong statement in terms of the integration of an old-school design and the most modern power cruiser.
