AND YOU CAN TELL EVERYBODY… Alex proposed at the Fairmont St. Andrews on my 30th birthday. It was the first place we went overnight together and we’ve always tried to go there for short stays over the years. We’d been together for more than 10 years when he proposed.

BORN IN A BARN… We went on a trip to view The Cow Shed and fell in love the moment we saw it. It felt like a happy place and we could do what we wanted with it.

VINTAGE FEEL… I loved the dresses by Australian brand Made with Love. I knew that Unbridaled in Ayr stocked them and visited with my mum and one of my bridesmaids. My dress was the third I tried on, and even when I was trying on others I kept going back to the ‘Harlie’ dress. It was elegant with a touch of 1920s’ boho.

FRINGE BENEFITS… We used pink, orange, yellow and peach ribbons (lots of bright summer colours!) to create a ribbon backdrop for our ceremony arch and aisle. We bought some DIY décor including fringing and candles, and booked Frill Factory who created some stunning lounge areas for us with wicker chairs, fluffy pillows and cactus plants.
