Formerly known as Chembiotek Research International, TCG Lifesciences (TCGLS) has a strong talent pool of more than 800 qualified and trained scientists, drawn from the best domestic and international institutes and industry. The company’s services span chemistry, in vitro and in vivo pharmacology, analytical development and validation, and specialty chemicals. TCGLS offers specific, functional solutions to integrated projects across multiple therapeutic areas with a specific focus on Inflammation & Pain, Infectious Diseases, Central Nervous System and Oncology. Its research infrastructure includes world-class chemistry and biology laboratories, animal facility, electrophysiology laboratory, BSL 2 laboratory, and cGMP facilities at the R&D center in Kolkata.

In addition, the company has a wholly-owned USFDA approved subsidiary Clininvent Research Pvt. Ltd. in Hyderabad. Clininvent offers custom manufacturing services for the production of cGMP Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (NCEs and Generic APIs), GMP ready regulatory starting materials (RSMs) to the pharma and fine chemicals industries for the production of active ingredients, excipients, starting materials, and intermediates. Together with Clininvent, TCGLS has been providing an end-to-end solution for drug discovery, development, and commercialization companies for the past 18 years. During it’s recently conducted survey on the BioServices industry in India, BioSpectrum interacted in detail with Swapan Bhattacharya, Managing Director, TCGLS, who has taken the company to a global leadership level in the research services space since its inception in 2001.
