Frozen food has declared a revolution, and most supermarkets and now even neighbourhood grocery stores are happily complying with it.
Freezing food for preservation has been an age old technique that is now being technologically harnessed to cater to the concept of frozen food. Today, frozen food encompasses anything from succulent chicken nuggets to the desi parantha (Indian flat bread) available in fancy packaging in big malls and grocery shops under the “frozen food” category for the busy urban family.
Frozen food is available in the form of various ready-to-eat food items that can be cooked and served in the least possible time. The Indian middle-class has taken a strong liking towards this almost ready to consume food given that it takes almost no preparation time. The advent of frozen foods in the Indian kitchen has led to massive change in lifestyle of the urban middle-class by means of changing their food habits.
