Mumbai-based jewellery designer Shaheen Abbas talks to BlackBook about her idea of luxury, style, inspiration and more
Shaheen Abbas is a firm believer that ‘Life is too short to wear boring jewellery’. Known for her sophisticated and funky jewellery pieces, the designer recently launched a new jewellery label, Flower Child by Shaheen Abbas.
Flower Child is a crushed metal and gold line that has a raw appeal, aimed at the 21st century power woman. Abbas says that her love affair with jewellery started at an early age, examining and trying on heirloom pieces at her family home, fashioning fantasy worlds as she did.
My new brand, Flower Child, is a luxury utilitarian fashion accessories label that features edgy, versatile statement pieces. Flower Child is about celebrating and saluting the courageous, 21stcentury alpha female. The first collection, Oro Crudo, Spanish for ‘raw gold’, is crafted from crushed metal and raw, undefined features.
