A Sleep Experience Like No Other
Hotelier India|May 2017

With 147 years of heritage, Simmons is a forerunner in technological innovations in the bedding industry. Some of these breakthroughs include the 1925 revolutionary Simmons® Original® Pocketed Coil® invention, the king and queen size mattress in the 1950s, the non-flip mattress in 2000s and the e-ION Crystal series that took the bedding industry by storm.

A Sleep Experience Like No Other

Simmons’ strong branding strength lies with the trust and quality it has built over the years. This faith between Simmons and renowned hoteliers is witnessed by the support it has received from them; 18 of the world’s top 20 hotel brands use its mattresses. The bedding major is honoured to be the preferred mattress brand for the Marriott Group, Shangri-La Group of Hotels, ITC Group of Hotels, Oberoi Group, etc., across the globe.

Kodaganur Achar, business commercial director, Simmons Bedding and Furniture India talks to Hotelier India about the company’s success in the hospitality industry and how the company continues to deliver quality sleep to its guests.

What are the most important aspects that hotels should take into consideration before selecting beddings and mattresses?

A good quality mattress is important for any hotel, since it would probably use this for at least five to 10 years. In India, we have a range of mattresses like coir, spring, pocketed spring, foam, etc. In recent times, luxurious foam and latex mattresses have become a hit. But most of the hotels use spring mattresses now.
