How To Choose Tax Saving Scheme U/s 80C ?

However, if you have not done the same so far, it is never too late and you must take action now rather than postponing it till the end of the financial year.

Section 80C is most popular tax saving section in our country for individuals as well as HUF (Hindu Undivided Family). It is known to all that maximum deduction permissible U/s 80C is Rs.1,50,000 for each individual. However, where everyone struggles is when it comes to selecting appropriate combinations of schemes/ investment options eligible for deduction U/s 80C.

There is a long list of eligible investment options like contributions to PPF/ EPF/GPF, various kinds of life insurance plans, ELSS schemes of Mutual funds, National Saving Certificates, repayment of housing loan and Fixed Deposits with bank for minimum period of 5 years to name a few popular options.
