SECURING TIES
TransREporter|April - May 2020
With the intrinsic flight to the future, it is now common to hear architects claim that their buildings are future-proof. Given that we have very little idea about what the mirage of the future will bring, this is a slightly odd claim.

SECURING TIES

Technology has dramatically reshaped our lives for the better in the recent years. Be it communication with our peers, shopping for groceries, finding your cardio specialist, or even booking a cab. And, this digital catharsis has also found its way into how we ‘build a living’. The concept of smart cities is growing at a great pace, thanks to modern engineers who are future-proofing the nation. The city's organisational structure is adapting to the modern-day explosion of information. Ever-evolving technology has redefined how infrastructure is being designed today, keeping the ‘future’ in mind.

FUTURE-PROOF CONSTRUCTION

Future-proofing can also be termed as an assessment process aimed at maximising living value, in terms of unpredictable and constant change.

Climate change is becoming worse, and we are now faced with rapidly recurring and extreme weather events like floods, tornadoes, and hurricanes. This precipitates the need for more resilient construction and manufacturing techniques that can withstand the additional brunt of these unexpected calamities.
