2017 has been such a stellar year for you. Do you look back and say that was my singular achievement or does it all make you pat yourself on your back?

“No. On the contrary, I feel like I’m building right now. I’m not where I would like to be. I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity. I’ve had an incredible welcome here. Like when I started in India, I had an incredible welcome from the film industry right from the first movie. I’ve always just depended on instinctively recognising opportunities and taking it one step at a time, not having a game plan as such. So I guess I don’t look at one achievement, I look at all of them as a step ladder to somewhere I’m supposed to be.”

And have you defined that somewhere?

“You know I never did and life turned out pretty okay. So I thought why mess with a good thing?”
