‘It's a joy to work with Roman'

Martin and Roman Kemp chat all things Father’s Day and reveal how they’re each other’s style inspo

It didn’t take long for the nation to fall in love with father-and-son duo Martin and Roman Kemp when they hit our TV screens together on Celebrity Gogglebox. And it seems the handsome duo are closer than ever as Father’s Day approaches.

“If you asked any of my friends, they’d all tell you that I don’t need one single day to show how much I love my dad,” Roman, 28, tells us, before explaining how much his dad – who’s a household name thanks to his time in EastEnders and Spandau Ballet – means to him.

The pair also wax lyrical about one another’s fashion sense, with Capital Radio DJ Roman saying, “Dad’s input was essential when the 80s trend was at its peak.”

Meanwhile, Martin – who also has a daughter, Harley, with wife Shirlie – admits he’s jealous of Roman’s trainer collection.

This friendly banter will come into its own when the pair team up again soon to host the return of their ITV challenge show, Martin And Roman’s Sunday Best.

“Working with Dad will be carnage,” Roman laughs. “He says I boss him around.”

Jokes aside, the pair are clearly very close, with former I’m A Celebrity star Roman candidly admitting, “There’s nothing I don’t talk to my dad about, hand on heart.”
