Strictly’s Karen Hauer on bonding with Jamie Laing and his girlfriend Sophie Habboo, and being very impressed by his stamina

Before all the drama of this weekend’s show – in which the final six couples sashayed across the dance floor – Karen Hauer took a break from teaching dance partner Jamie Laing how to jive to talk to us about their roller-coaster “Strictly journey”.

The ballroom professional had been in rehearsals all morning and was full of praise for Jamie’s attitude.

“He’s got a lot of energy, which is great,” she tells us. “That’s what you need for the jive – a lot of stamina.”

Viewers have certainly seen Jamie’s lively energy over the past few weeks. From his hilarious Hercules Charleston to his sassy street dance, the Made In Chelsea star has impressed us all with how much he’s improved this series.
