Katie Price is the first to admit she’s far from perfect, but despite the mistakes she may have made in her life, she has always put her kids first. That’s especially true when it comes to her eldest son, Harvey, who was born partially blind and also suffers from autism, ADHD and the genetic condition Prader-Willi syndrome. While Katie is equally devoted to all her children (she shares Junior, 15 this week, and Princess, 12, with her first husband Peter Andre, and Jett, six, and Bunny, five, with her third husband Kieran Hayler), her firstborn’s needs are the most complex.
Katie, 42, is fiercely protective of Harvey and has been campaigning since 2017 for Harvey’s Law to be introduced, which would make online abuse of disabled people a criminal offence.
Harvey’s biological dad, former footballer Dwight Yorke, has never been in the picture, so Katie has been the only enduring relationship in his life. As a result, they share an unbreakable bond, and even though Harvey recently turned 18, he needs his mum more than ever.
As the inseparable pair mark Harvey’s coming of age with our gorgeous shoot, Katie is feeling particularly sentimental as she reflects on almost two decades with her special man.
“He’ll always be my baby and he’s always by my side,” she smiles. “He’s just so unique and pure and innocent.”
The celebration of her son’s milestone birthday, with all her kids around her, is particularly poignant for Katie as, earlier this year, she reached rock bottom. Her relationship with Kris Boyson hit the skids, she filed for bankruptcy and she even turned to drink and drugs before contemplating suicide.
