The past couple of years have been tough for everyone, but for TV presenter Kate Garraway they have been life-changing. Her family’s routine was transformed beyond recognition in 2020 when her husband Derek Draper, 54, almost lost his life to Covid. He is still on a long journey to return to any kind of normality, yet Kate, also 54, has coped with grace and dignity, inspiring thousands of others whose lives have been shattered by the pandemic.
Kate has balanced the demands of Derek’s condition with being a mum to their two children – Darcey, 16, and Billy, 12 – as well as throwing herself into work. She’s continued to host Good Morning Britain, presented Your Body Uncovered on BBC Two and took over ITV’s Life Stories from Piers Morgan. And she’s now fronting her own weekend chat show, Garraway’s Good Stuff on ITV.
The Saturday morning series will see Kate interviewing celebrity guests about what makes them feel good in mind, body and spirit – the kind of positive TV that she feels we all need to be watching right now. Kate also sees it as her way of giving back to the people who have supported her recently.
