The Queen welcomed US President Joe Biden, First Lady Dr Jill Biden and other world leaders to the UK for the G7 Summit last Friday at an evening reception hosted at the Eden Project in Cornwall.
The Duchess of Cambridge looked elegant in a cream tailored Alexander McQueen dress as she accompanied husband Prince William on the night. Also in attendance were Prince Charles and Camilla and Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his new wife Carrie.
The Queen, dressed in a simple floral gown, hosted the dinner in an effort from the country to welcome those for the G7 summit. The royals were seen chatting to the Johnsons before the Queen posed for an official photograph with G7 leaders.
Earlier in the day, Kate proved how completely at ease she is with her senior royal role, joining the First Lady at the Connor Downs Academy in Hayle, West Cornwall.
Meeting for the first time, they were pictured smiling and laughing together as they toured the school. College educator Dr Biden has continued teaching, while Kate has been heavily involved in children’s development with her charity work and a focus on the early years.
The pair led a round-table discussion on the importance of early childhood on lifelong outcomes. Earlier that day, they visited the school’s reception class to hear how its pupils are supported through a bespoke Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, which uses child-led teaching to help its pupils develop as independent, confident and successful learners.
The women complemented each other perfectly with their outfits, with Kate opting for a fuchsia dress, also by Alexander McQueen, while Jill, 70, looked elegant in a hot pink blazer.
