Back in August, the showbiz world was dealt a truly devastating blow. Actor Chadwick Boseman’s family announced with “immeasurable grief” that the Black Panther star had passed away at the age of 43.
The actor’s millions of fans had no idea he had been diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016 and had been fighting a private battle against the disease while continuing to make movies.
Three months on from his tragic death, the world is still in mourning for a man who inspired so many. Chadwick, who would have turned 44 on 29 November, made a huge impact in a short period of time.
Born in South Carolina in 1976, Chadwick Aaron Boseman was the son of Leroy, an upholsterer, and nurse Carolyn. Destined to have a career in the arts, he wrote and staged a play called Crossroads at high school after one of his classmates was shot and killed. He studied directing at Howard University in Washington, but after a brief stint as a drama teacher in New York, he moved to LA to pursue his acting career.
