Vitiligoby Queen Beats The Bullies
People Magazine South Africa|September 09, 2016

A MOM who was called a ‘Dalmatian’ by bullies who picked on her skin condition is using her striking looks to empower women.

Vitiligoby Queen Beats The Bullies

Stunning tanesha brown endured years of taunts because of her vitiligo – which causes white patches all over her body. but now the make-up artist is embracing her unique skin – and says men can’t get enough of her distinctive looks. Tanesha says, “I’m different. That’s the best part, I don’t ever have to walk into a party and feel like somebody is going to be there looking like me. They might have on the same dress as me, but they’ll never look like me and I embrace that I look different from everybody else.” Glamorous Tanesha, 32, from LA, suffered from low self-esteem and would cake her face in thick make-up after years of cruel remarks. The mom to 12-year-old twin boys says, “I’ve had vitiligo since I was five years old so I didn’t know that I looked different until I got to middle school – people made me realise I looked different. That was difficult for me because I just wanted to be what everybody considered normal. I just wanted to be myself and people made that difficult for me – to be just who I was.”
