The Guests
Royal Britain Presents Royal Life|Issue 36

When a Hollywood actress gets married to one of the most famous young British Royals you just know that the guest list at the wedding is going to feature some very big celebrities, and this certainly proved to be true on this occasion…

The Guests

In late March, the Palace revealed that some 600 guests would receive invitations to the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. All were invited to the service and daytime lunch at St. George’s Hall hosted by the Queen - but only around 200 were to attend the evening party at Frogmore House, hosted by the Prince of Wales.

This immediately fuelled speculation as to who would be on the exclusive guest list, though advance word was that loyal Prince Harry would be inviting many of his old Army mates and even two of his ex-girlfriends!

The guest list for the Royal Wedding was kept very low key on the run up to the main event, but that added to the excitement of the crowds when a number of famous faces started to arrive at Windsor.

Some of the first guests to arrive were Luther star Idris Elba and his fiancee Sabrina Dhowre, as well as singer James Blunt. Closely behind was superstar TV host Oprah Winfrey who looked amazing in pastel pink, and appeared to be having a good chat with Idris, before heading off to find her seat. According to sources, Oprah had a wedding emergency the previous day when the dress she was supposed to be wearing came out bright white instead of the cream colour she’d imagined, leaving the star to find another outfit in the space of a day – but it did look great.

A buzz went through the crowd upon the early arrival of the Beckhams, who turned up an hour and a half before the noon service. The former England football captain and the former Spice Girl are both good friends of Prince Harry and have been very supportive of his charity ventures over the years.

Hollywood star George Clooney was also a big draw, looking dapper in company with his lawyer wife Amal, who was wearing a canary yellow Stella McCartney dress with matching hat.
