Chandrayaan- 2

India's first lunar lander, Vikram of Chandrayaan 2 mission lost contact with mission control just minutes away from touch-down on the lunar surface. Although it was later located from orbit, its revival is unlikely. At the same time, the Orbiter of Chandrayaan-2 continues to perform the scheduled scientific experiments to complete satisfaction.

Lander Vikram went silent

Vikram, Chandrayaan-2's lander module that houses the six-wheeled rover Pragyaan, went silent on September 7 when it attempted soft landing near the south pole of the Moon. It was said that the lander failed to bring down its speed to the level required to make a soft landing. The incident took place 13 minutes after Vikram began its descent.
