My Smart Mailboxes are missing!
Q I’ve just upgraded to macOS Mojave, and all the Smart Mailboxes I had in Mail previously have vanished. The messages are still there, thankfully. How can I restore my previous setup?

A Most major releases of macOS bring with them a new version of Mail, and other bundled apps. An issue some encounter after an upgrade is that Smart Mailboxes stop working or are absent.
This doesn’t affect everyone, and we have not seen any good explanation as to why it happens to just some people. The simplest solution is to recreate the Smart Mailboxes once you’re happy that you haven’t lost any messages. A pain you shouldn’t face, we know.
