From television series to books, historian Dan Snow has done it all. The broadcaster is now taking his stories on the road to a town near you
Musicians and comedians do it, so why can’t historians? That’s what broadcaster Dan Snow thought when deciding to embark on his first theatre tour, An Evening With The History Guy.
Taking place around various UK venues this summer, the historian and writer, well-known for his regular history slot on BBC’s The One Show, will be stepping into the spotlight and sharing with audiences memorable anecdotes from his varied career.
“We thought, why not, let’s take history on the road and see who comes,” says Dan, who runs his own online television channel, History Hit TV. It has been a dream of the Oxford University graduate to be able to make programmes about whatever he wanted, without having to wait for a commission. “That’s the beauty about the digital world. One of the main reasons for the tour was the channel; I wanted to get out on the road and spread the word about all things history.”
